Book Illustrations

I love variety, and I’m lucky to have found that in illustrating books of all types. I’ve illustrated myriad children’s books, including board books, picture books, specialty books, and book covers. These books are published via Hachette Book Group, Macmillan, Simon and Schuster, and Harper Collins.

Children’s Book Illustrator and Author

I’m thrilled to be both writing and illustrating picture books - some out on shelves and more to come! My debut picture book, Let’s Do Everything and Nothing was followed with Luminous: Living Things that Light up the Night. Aside from these two picture books, I am also the author of the board book Everyone Eats and coauthor of The Curious Artist: Drawing Trees and Leaves.

Children’s
Picture Book Illustrations

Some of my favorite projects have been working on children’s books written by other authors, such as I Am An American: The Wong Kim Ark Story by Martha Brockenbrough and Grace Lin, I Dream of Popo by Livia Blackburne and The Sound of Silence by Katrina Goldsaito. I’m honored to illustrate the texts of such talented authors! I love the process of interpreting someone else’s text and adding my own meaning through the images.

Specialty Book Illustration

While my most visible books are picture books, I also love illustrating specialty books like Rise and The Curious Artist: Drawing Trees and Leaves. These books bridge the gap between my children’s book illustrations and my editorial illustrations; the content is sophisticated but the end product is one beautiful, tangible work of art.

Book Covers

I’ve been lucky to illustrate covers for middle grade and young adult books with authors such as Jenny Han, Cynthia Kadohata and Jane Kuo!
